Allan S. Wood KC


Called to the Jamaican Bar in 1982 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2010, Allan has acted in a broad range of litigation. He has led in several appeals to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, and he has appeared in the Caribbean Court of Justice (in its original jurisdiction for Barbados and Saint Lucia), in the Eastern Caribbean (Anguilla and British Virgin Islands), Cayman and the Turks & Caicos Islands (TCI). He has for several consecutive years been ranked in Band 1 by Chambers Global for general business law dispute resolution.

Allan served as the Chairman of the General Legal Council from 2016 to 2022.

He is the Senior Partner of Livingston Alexander & Levy.

Among his most recent cases, Allan led the team appearing for the General Legal Council before the Privy Council in the appeal that considered the constitutionality of the Jamaican AML legislation applicable to attorneys.

Allan was a member of the TCI Delegation that engaged in talks with the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office to amend the Constitution of the Turks & Caicos Islands that was held October 16-17, 2023.
